Code of conduct for Members
Members of the Audiobook World Award Academy are required to conduct themselves in a courteous, professional, and respectful manner, and in accordance with the Audiobook World Award Academy’s rules and regulations, as determined by the Academy in its sole discretion.
Consistent with the foregoing guiding principles, Audiobook World Award Academy members will:
- Behave in a courteous, professional, and respectful manner toward fellow Audiobook World Award Academy Members as well as Audiobook World Award Academy’s employees, vendors, sponsors, and event guests.
- Respect the rules and property of all organizations and venues hosting, sponsoring, or managing events of or on behalf of the Audiobook World Award Academy and its affiliates.
- Communicate differences of opinion regarding Audiobook World Award Academy matters in a professional manner with due regard for the disparate viewpoints of others.
- Comply with the Audiobook World Award Academy’s voting solicitation guidelines.
- Comply with the Audiobook World Award Academy’s ticketing guidelines.
- Comply with the Audiobook World Award Academy’s policy regarding the sale or transfer of A.W.A. Academy’s statuette.
Consistent with the foregoing guiding principles, Audiobook World Award Academy’s Members will not:
- Threaten, harass, abuse, or discriminate against others, verbally, physically, or in writing.
- Engage in unruly, disruptive, lewd, illegal, or unethical conduct in connection with Audiobook World Award Academy events or matters.
- Engage in conduct that is harmful to the standing, reputation, welfare, and best interests of the Audiobook World Award Academy or its members and employees.
- Endanger the health or safety of others in connection with Audiobook World Award Academy events or matters.
- Interfere with the duties or authority of the Audiobook World Award Academy’s elected leaders and employees.
- Use membership affiliation with the Audiobook World Award Academy to profit, including but not limited to by offering to sell or selling the Audiobook World Award Academy’s membership list (which is confidential).
Consistent with the foregoing guiding principles, (without express written permission of the Audiobook World Award Academy’s) Audiobook World Award Academy Members will not:
- Solicit or offer goods or services for purchase at events hosted or sponsored by the Audiobook World Award Academy or its affiliates.
- Take photographs or recordings or solicit autographs at events hosted or sponsored by the Audiobook World Award Academy or its affiliates.
- Communicate with the media regarding the actions, decisions, business, or affairs of the Audiobook World Award Academy or its affiliates.
- Make commitments or speak on behalf of the Audiobook World Award Academy.
- Create or use collateral with Audiobook World Award Academy or A.W.A.’s marks or logos or reference an affiliation with the Audiobook World Award Academy.
- Permit his/her invited guests to engage in the foregoing activities at Audiobook World Award Academy events.
The Audiobook World Award Academy may, in its sole discretion, terminate the membership of any member convicted of: (a) a felony, or crime of moral turpitude, under the laws of the United States; or (b) a crime of equivalent severity (in the sole discretion of the Academy) outside of the United States.
Any violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including a refusal of admission to or ejection from Audiobook World Award Academy events, and denial, suspension, or termination of membership, in the sole discretion of the Audiobook World Award Academy (or the applicable Audiobook World Award Academy affiliate).
This Code of Conduct is subject to change, and may be amended, supplemented, or superseded (including, without limitation, by any one or more separate policies) without notice. Audiobook World Award Academy members are, at all times, responsible for compliance with the Code of Conduct in its then current form.
